Kepa met recently with Pili Mtambalike from Media Council, Benedict Ishabakaki from Human Rights Defenders Coalition and Maxence Melo from Jamiii Forums to discuss about civic space in Tanzania. In the video they share their thoughts about the current situation and propose a way forward.The current state of civil society space and ways forward are discussed further today in a joint seminar organized by Kepa Tanzania and the Embassy of Finland. During the day we seek to bring together civil society organizations, donor partners and representatives of governmental institutions in Tanzania to discuss on how together act for enabling environment for civil society in Tanzania. Seminar: Joint action for civil society space in Tanzania
Space for civil society to take action is shrinking in many countries around the world. People and organizations advocating for change and defending human rights are facing the biggest challenges. Tanzania is one of the countries where civil society needs greater space and freedom to operate.
